BackIn pursuit of academic collaboration and institutional development, Tarlac State University (TSU) and Northern Iloilo State University – Victorino Salcedo Sara Campus (NISU-VSSC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 24, 2025, at TSU Hotel – Gabriella Hall.
The collaboration was made possible through the efforts of TSU’s College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) and the Office of International Affairs and Linkages (OIAL), further strengthening the university’s academic linkages.
Representing TSU in the ceremonial signing was University President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco, who joined virtually; Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Roel R. Alviar, CCJE Dean; Dr. Grace N. Rosete, OIAL Director; CCJE faculty members; and OIAL staff.
On the other hand, NISU-VSSC was represented by Dr. Raffy B. Chavez, Campus Administrator. Joining him were Dr. Ronie A. Ausa, Dean of the College of Criminology; Dr. Nelly L. Supiter, Program Chairperson; faculty members Prof. Chrismel Joy S. Agolito, Dr. Donna Jane S. Borda, and Prof. Glenn G. Castor; and Engr. Melinda Habaradas, Internal Quality Assurance Officer.
The signed agreement lays the groundwork for collaborative academic efforts between the two institutions. Among the identified areas of cooperation are faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, credit transfer programs, internship and field exposure opportunities, co-hosted seminars and conferences, and cultural experience activities.
With this formal partnership, both TSU and NISU-VSSC look forward to fostering meaningful academic engagements and sustained collaboration in the years to come.
