Tarlac State University (TSU) and the Kawayan Collective – Tarlac Bamboo Products Manufacturing (KC-T) officially established a partnership aimed at advancing research, promoting knowledge sharing, and improving bamboo treatment and processing methods for construction applications. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed on October 7, 2025, at TSU Main AVR.
Present during the signing were TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco and Atty. Wilmark J. Ramos, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension; Dr. Grace N. Rosete, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Linkages (OIAL); Engr. Enalyn T. Domingo, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering (COE), COE faculty members, and OIAL staff.
Meanwhile, Ms. Diana Prado, KC-T Operations Manager and Ar. Lolito Del Rosario, Jr., KC-T Bamboo Architect/Consultant represented KC-T in the event.
In her message of commitment, Ms. Prado emphasized that, despite their company's small size, their dedication to meaningful partnerships remains steadfast. She noted that working with Tarlac State University strengthens their shared vision of innovation and community impact. “Even if we are a small company, we always aim to make a big impact through our work,” she added.
On the other hand, Dr. Velasco highlighted the symbolism of bamboo in describing the partnership between TSU and KC-T. “We are like bamboo—steadfast amid challenges, flexible in times of change, and always growing stronger together” he expressed.
TSU’s partnership with Kawayan Collective stands as a testament to the University’s commitment to delivering extension services and facilitating technology transfer for the benefit of local industries and communities.
