Tarlac State University (TSU), through the Office of International Affairs and Linkages (OIAL) and the College of Education – Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) program, formalized its partnership with the Flying Disc Confederation of the Philippines (FDCP) through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing on November 4, 2026, at the TSU Villa Lucinda Campus, Tarlac City.
The partnership aims to promote disc golf as an accessible sport in the Philippines through training programs, sporting events, facility development, student engagement, and community outreach. It aligns with TSU's commitment to quality education, physical education, wellness, and sports development.
In his opening remarks, TSU President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza emphasized the university's culture of inclusivity and collaboration, stating, “No one is a stranger; everyone is family.” He further highlighted the importance of collective efforts, saying, “If we build it together, starting from the roots upward, it will flourish and lead us to our shared destination.”
As part of the university's commitment, TSU will explore the integration of disc golf into the BPEd curriculum, providing students with opportunities to learn about and develop competencies in the sport. This initiative is envisioned as a significant step toward expanding awareness, encouraging participation, and developing future advocates and practitioners of disc golf in the country.
Through this partnership, TSU and FDCP seek to strengthen sports education and promote disc golf as an emerging recreational and competitive sport in the Philippines.
