TSU prepares for KNU delegation visit, discusses ICT-College partnership renewal

Tarlac State University (TSU), through the Office of International Affairs and Linkages (OIAL) and the College of Education (COEd), is set to strengthen its longstanding partnership with Korea Nazarene University (KNU) following a coordination meeting held at OIAL Director’s Office, June 23, 2026.

Leading the discussions were COEd Dean Dr. Cynthia Quiambao, OIAL Director Dr. Ninez B. Tulo, KNU Representative Dr. Jiyoung Lee, Mr. Zuriel Ross Tabian, BPE and MAPES Program Chair, Mr. Nestor Bautista, BPE Faculty, Asst. Prof. Jefferson Herrera, BPE Faculty, Mr. Jeith Ruelson Parazo, BTLED and BTVTED Faculty, and OIAL Heads and staff.

Among the key developments discussed was the planned transition of the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TSU and KNU into a more comprehensive Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The proposed agreement will cover faculty and student exchange programs, cultural exchange activities, research collaboration, faculty mobility, and the implementation of an English Language Learning Program (ELPP).

The meeting likewise finalized preparations for the proposed visit of a 25-member KNU delegation scheduled this August 2026. The visit will feature a series of academic, cultural, and extension activities, including martial arts and cultural exhibitions, collaborative extension programs, and a culinary exchange seminar.

The parties also explored opportunities for joint research initiatives, with KNU expressing willingness to support publication expenses for collaborative research outputs. Future faculty mobility and exchange programs were likewise discussed as priority areas for development.

Meanwhile, the meeting also included discussions on the planned renewal of TSU's academic partnership with ICT-College. University representatives explored the preparation of separate memoranda of agreement covering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs and National Certificate (NC) training opportunities. Plans for a knowledge-sharing activity on educational technology in September 2026 were likewise discussed, with proposed participation from both TSU and ICT-College. 

The meeting underscores TSU’s commitment to expanding internationalization efforts and fostering meaningful partnerships that provide academic, research, cultural, and professional development opportunities for its students and faculty.
