TSU Joins ASEAN Ulayaw 2 on International Ranking Opportunities

Tarlac State University (TSU), through the Office of International Affairs and Linkages (OIAL), participated in the second installment of ASEAN Ulayaw 2026: Unifying Linkages and ASEAN-Driven Yields in Academe for Wider Internationalization, held on August 17, 2026, via Zoom.

Carrying the theme “Bringing International Rankings to Central Luzon HEIs,” the session featured Dr. Sonny Soriano, Director for External Affairs and Linkages of Urdaneta City University, who discussed “Exploring WURI and Other International Ranking Opportunities.”

The session highlighted the role of international rankings in strengthening institutional visibility, innovation, sustainability, and internationalization. Dr. Soriano also shared Urdaneta City University’s journey toward global recognition through internationalization and participation in world university rankings.

The discussion also highlighted the achievements of Central Luzon higher education institutions in global rankings, including TSU’s inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rankings 2026, where the University placed in the 1,001–1,500 range.

As TSU continues its internationalization journey, participation in initiatives such as ASEAN Ulayaw provides the University with opportunities to learn from fellow institutions, explore emerging global platforms, and strategically position its accomplishments and innovations for wider international recognition.
