BackThe Office of International Affairs and Linkages (OIAL) convened all College and Office Internationalization (IZN) Coordinators of Tarlac State University for the first IZN Coordinators meeting of 2025, held virtually today, March 27, 2025.
OIAL Director Dr. Grace N. Rosete opened the meeting with a brief update on the office’s pipeline projects and a follow-up on the IZN initiatives of the participating colleges and offices.
The meeting focused on two key agenda items: the proposed process for establishing linkages and the introduction of a standardized evaluation form for assessing future partnerships, both discussed by Head of Linkages, Prof. Maria Tiara Fatima F. Galang. Meanwhile, Strategic Communications and International Marketing Department Head Mr. Marco Polo M. Flores addressed concerns regarding the International and Local Linkages Archive (IALLA)—TSU’s database of all MOUs and MOAs.
Prof. Galang detailed the pre-, during, and post-processes involved in establishing partnerships, from organizing exploratory meetings to finalizing agreements through MOUs or MOAs. She emphasized the importance of following the proposed protocol to prevent potential complications that may arise from engaging with unverified institutions. She also introduced a standardized evaluation form designed to assess potential partners before formalizing agreements, ensuring that all collaborations align with TSU’s internationalization goals and uphold institutional integrity.
Mr. Flores then discussed the last agenda item, focusing on the necessary steps before IALLA’s full implementation. He reiterated the importance of submitting digital copies of MOUs and MOAs, stressing that compliance is crucial for the system’s efficiency and will greatly benefit colleges in their Level 4 Accreditation applications.
Additionally, Mr. Flores introduced The Global Vista, OIAL’s quarterly newsletter set for release in the first week of April, and encouraged IZN Coordinators to contribute feature stories highlighting their respective IZN initiatives. He also presented OIAL’s revamped logo, explaining that its blue, green, and yellow hues were chosen for easy identification across all OIAL platforms, creating a cohesive “OIAL ecosystem.”
The meeting concluded with no questions or concerns raised regarding the agenda.
