BackTarlac State University (TSU) student leaders participated in the 12th Asian Youth Leaders Travel and Learning Camp (AYLTLC) held in Singapore from February 13 to 17, 2025. The event allowed student leaders to engage in cross-cultural collaboration and enhance their leadership skills.
During the camp’s Learning Session, participants attended lectures delivered by international resource speakers from the National University of Singapore. Topics discussed included the Use of Large Language Models, Singapore's Urban Development, Energy Use and Function, The World as a Single Society, AI and Smart Living, and Village Lessons for City Living.
Several TSU student leaders were recognized for their outstanding achievements during the event, receiving various awards for their excellence and contributions.
Stephaney Joy C. Sarmiento from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) received the Team of the Year and Most Creative awards, while Jazzmine Faye Samson from the College of Computer Studies (CCS) was named Most Outstanding. Irish P. Sumat from the College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) received multiple awards, including Outstanding Youth Leader, Team of the Year, and Most Engaging. Vien Iel D. Laxamana from the College of Public Administration and Governance (CPAG) was recognized with the Best in Content award, and Aliza Grace B. Aquino from the College of Science (COS) also received the Most Outstanding award. Francis Paul C. Austin from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) also took part in the event.
Accompanying the student delegation was Atty. Gherold C. Benitez, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, who oversaw the participants throughout the event.
